babysue (6/1/05) For an underground singer/songwriter, Lanky's music has an incredibly polished and accessible sound. Odd Hour Work Week is a short album, clocking in at just under 30 minutes. But this fellow utilizes his time wisely and doesn't use filler. Thus, this ten track album is as absorbing and entertaining as many albums twice its length. Unlike many underground artists, Lanky isn't trying to be incredibly clever and unusual. Instead, this young man writes and records music that could easily be understood by millions of people. These nine lavish cuts showcase creative arrangements and Lanky's excellent vocal abilities. Tracks like "Falling Hard for the Girl," "Crashing the Car is Learning to Drive," "Everything That," and "Quiet Song" make this album a truly great spin. (Rating: 5 = Excellent)
