Jersey boy visits Satori Satori Coffee in WeMo welcomes the soothing sounds of New Jersey’s favorite one-man acoustic act, Lanky, Saturday, April 2 at 9 p.m. Lanky released his debut CD entitled “Inner Onwriter” on indie label Imposter. He sold an almost unheard of 3000 CDs while on the road. The follow-up was a stripped-down live album entitled “Last Chance for a First Impression,” an album forged in Lanky’s own musical philosophies. “Songs have lives all their own,” said Lanky, “and the smartest thing I can do is know when to work on them and when to leave them alone.” His guitar stylings are traditionally acoustic, complex chording and riffs, yet Lanky brings something to the table. His voice has a pop-rock sound reminiscent of the Gin Blossoms or Third Eye Blind. Songs like “Lovesick” transcend from poignancy to rage with Lanky’s unique vocals. He seems to be breathing new life to a musical genre that’s needed a jump-start. - Stephen Centanni
